_ExcelWriteSheetFromArray

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

Is there a faster way to copy an array into a worksheet if you have a large array?

Wasn't sure if anyone had used the clipboard for something like this?

$oExcel = _ExcelBookNew(1)
WinActivate($oExcel)
_ExcelSheetAddNew($oExcel, "Exceptions")
_ExcelSheetActivate($oExcel, "Exceptions")
_ExcelWriteSheetFromArray($oExcel, $exceptionArray, 1,1,0,0)
_ExcelSheetDelete($oExcel, "Sheet1")
$oExcel.Columns.AutoFit
_ExcelSheetAddNew($oExcel, "Not Found")
_ExcelSheetActivate($oExcel, "Not Found")
_ExcelWriteSheetFromArray($oExcel, $notFoundArray, 1,1,0,0)
$oExcel.Columns.AutoFit
_ExcelSheetAddNew($oExcel, "SSD_SAD Changed")
_ExcelSheetActivate($oExcel, "SSD_SAD Changed")
_ExcelWriteSheetFromArray($oExcel, $dateChangeArray, 1,1,0,0)
$oExcel.Columns.AutoFit

Could you write the data to a blank file under a .csv extension? You would write to it without using Excel. When finished writing the data, open it in Excel, apply your formatting (autofit) and re-save it with an Excel format and extension. I image this method would be much quicker because the majority of the work will be done outside of Excel.

Try the latest beta version of AutoIt, it has a new rewritten Excel UDF that is a lot faster. Check the function names though, the new version changes all the old function names.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

BrewManNH is quite right. The new function _Excel_RangeWrite is about 20-100 times faster.
