Variable Name, hash variable, and thanks

Recommended Posts

Are these allowed with AutoIt or have equivalent?

;using "." in a variable name

$Key.Status

;hash variable/ accessing an array using text instead of numbers

$key{'status'}

lastly,

Thanks for a great scripting/programming language.

I am loving it!

(please move this to general help and support section)

Burgaud,

;using "." in a variable name: From the Help file:

Each variable [...] must start with the "$" character and may only contain letters, numbers and the underscore "_" character

The "." notation is used elsewhere in AutoIt and so it will never be allowed as part of a basic name.

hash variable/ accessing an array using text instead of numbers: Use an "associative array" UDF - at present my favourite is this one - or the dictionary scripting object, where you get to use your "." notation! :D

Thanks for a great scripting/programming language: On behalf of the team - much appreciated. :)
