FTP and loop

Recommended Posts

Hi

i'am making a small script that detects if a file is changed on my site

this script is working fine if i keep running it every 10 seconds it will detect if the file 0.mp4 is changed

#include <FTPEx.au3>

$hOpen = _FTP_Open('MyFTP Control')
$hConn = _FTP_Connect($hOpen, "ftp.mysite", "myuser", "mypass")

_FTP_FileGet($hConn,"/htdocs/0.mp4","temp.mp4")
If FileRead("temp.mp4") <> FileRead("0RAW.mp4") Then ConsoleWrite("this is if")

Local $Ftpc = _FTP_Close($hConn)
Local $Ftpo = _FTP_Close($hOpen)

but when i use a loop it will not detect the changing anymore

#include <FTPEx.au3>

$hOpen = _FTP_Open('MyFTP Control')
$hConn = _FTP_Connect($hOpen, "ftp.0fees.us", "0fe_14780533", "Devilmaycry")
while 1
_FTP_FileGet($hConn,"/htdocs/0.mp4","temp.mp4")
If FileRead("temp.mp4") <> FileRead("0RAW.mp4") Then ConsoleWrite("this is if")
WEnd

Local $Ftpc = _FTP_Close($hConn)
Local $Ftpo = _FTP_Close($hOpen)

it will keep running and will never console write

any ideas ?

Try putting everything inside your loop

while 1

$hOpen = _FTP_Open('MyFTP Control')
$hConn = _FTP_Connect($hOpen, "ftp.0fees.us", "0fe_14780533", "Devilmaycry")

_FTP_FileGet($hConn,"/htdocs/0.mp4","temp.mp4")
If FileRead("temp.mp4") <> FileRead("0RAW.mp4") Then ConsoleWrite("this is if")

Local $Ftpc = _FTP_Close($hConn)
Local $Ftpo = _FTP_Close($hOpen)

WEnd

Try using = instead of <> and your consol will get spammed

You should put a sleep in that loop, it's constantly trying to download the file and read it. Another thing, you don't have the file overwrite option set so it isn't going to delete the local file and overwrite it, ever.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

$bFailIfExists [optional] True: do not overwrite existing (default = False).

Doesn't that mean that it overwites by default?

Ooops, you're right, I read it backwards. ;)
