How can i delete running dll file ?

i want delete a running dll file with autoit. i try tihs but not working:

FileDelete(@ProgramFilesDir & "\Internet Download Manager\IDMShellExt64.dll")

it might have protection such as read only or system attributes.

you should try removing attributes from the DLL before trying to delete it and see how successful that is.

Although i haven't tested this, I've run into attribute issues with fileDelete before, So i'd assume this is the issue you're having also.

What happens if you run the ShellExecute line in a command prompt? What do you get if you omit the "/s" in the line when you do that?

i tried with command prompt and not happened and it gives error without /s

So, running the command manually does the same thing as running it in AutoIt? What error do you get when you run it without the /s?

You really need to give more information that what you're giving right now. It's like pulling teeth.

this is without /s. it means:

"idmshellext64.dll module installed but DllUnregisterServer calling was error with 0x80070002 code."

Try using the full path to the DLL, it looks like it's a 64bit program but regsvr32 is looking in the 32 bit Program Files folder for it.

Your code doesn't show that at all. It says nothing about the path to the DLL. That error message means it can't find the file.

I'm not writing your script for you, you clearly have no idea what it is you're saying in any of these posts.

First I told you to use the path to the DLL in the line, you said you did.

I came back saying your code doesn't show you using the path at all, and now you're telling me you don't know WTF a path is?

You could try using the PendingFileRenameOperations registry key to have the file deleted on bootup.

A quick google search turned up this post to learn how to use it.
