Richard Robertson Posted June 12, 2014 Share Posted June 12, 2014 Desktop icons are not controls. They are items in a slightly non-standard list view. If you just want to hide them, just set it in the registry. HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvancedHideIcons = DWORD 1 This will hide them and DWORD 0 will show them again.
