Unexpected error - StringRegExpReplace

I'm dealing with an array that one of the fields contains a list of values that are comma seperated

EX ABC1234, BCDE1234

This is the code I'm using:

For $i = 0 to UBound($starterArray) -1
    If StringRegExp ($starterArray[$i][3],",") <> 0 Then
        $nextArray = StringSplit(starterArray[$i][3],",")
         _ArrayDisplay($nextArray)
         For $x=0 to UBound($nextArray) -1
              $output = StringRegExpReplace($nextArray[$x][0], " ","")
         Next
    EndIf
Next

What I'm trying to do is see if the field in the array contains a comma and if it does, split up the string (its going to end up writing to a file) and replace the leading space keys.

When I run this code, everything seems to work. After the split I end up with an array that looks like this:

 

[0]|2

[1]|ABC1234

[2]| BCDE1234

But I get the error on the regexp replace.

It says the error is with the syntax of stringregexpreplace but I've used the exact same syntax elsewhere in my scripts.

Anyone know of a good way to handle an array within an array?

startarray is missing $ and what's the deal with writing to $output all the time?

Sorry, I was transposing writing it in a more generic format (the $ is there in my script)

The reason I keep writing it to output is because the next step is to pass output to a SQL statement to grab some additional data prior to writing to a | delimited csv file

FileWriteLine($fileCSV, $Name & "," & $number &","& $Output &","& $date& @CRLF)

The syntax of StringRegExpReplace is correct

But StringSplit returns a 1D array, so you should write

$output = StringRegExpReplace($nextArray[$x], " ","")

BTW a StringReplace is enough

The regexp pattern I would use to strip leading WS would be "(As+)", but you can simply use StringStripWS().
