tommytx
This has probably been asked many times but a search did not find it ... I want to call several .au3 files from a .au3 file... can this be done... For example: Inside the master au3 might be.. call myfile1.au3 call myfile2.au3 call myfile3.au3 call myfile3.au3 I know its very simple to do it if the au3 has been compiled but I am testing and making a lot of changes in the au3 so I do nont want to spend time re-compiling each time i mod an au3.. Thanks in advance.

kylomas
If you are running on a machine with AutoIT installed you can also shellexecute scripts, like... Driver #include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> msgbox(0,'Driver Test','Hit <ENTER> to run .AU3 files') shellexecute(@scriptdir & '\slave1.au3') shellexecute(@scriptdir & '\slave2.au3') shellexecute(@scriptdir & '\slave3.au3') Slave 1 #include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> msgbox($IDOK,'Slave #1','Slave #1 running. Hit <ENTER> to exit') Slave 2 #include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> msgbox($IDOK,'Slave #2','Slave #2 running. Hit <ENTER> to exit') Slave 3 #include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> msgbox($IDOK,'Slave #3','Slave #3 running. Hit <ENTER> to exit') ...and on and on... Forum Rules Procedure for posting code "I like pigs. tommytx
Thanks Melba.. that got me to a lot of experimentation.. but I could not get any to work ... and never in the regular documentation did I see the example that made it work for me... that is adding the "run" in the command.... Thanks Fubar but when I set up what you show as the first example... each time I hit enter.. it opened that slave file in the editor.. but would not auto run. and a final big thanks to guiness... as in the search of the wiki as you suggested I found this example... ShellExecute("E:Help_Folder!!!__Mary_Pope_HandyConsecutive_au3_files_RUNslave1.au3", "", "", "edit", @SW_MAXIMIZE) ShellExecute("E:Help_Folder!!!__Mary_Pope_HandyConsecutive_au3_files_RUNslave2.au3", "", "", "edit", @SW_MAXIMIZE) ShellExecute("E:Help_Folder!!!__Mary_Pope_HandyConsecutive_au3_files_RUNslave3.au3", "", "", "edit", @SW_MAXIMIZE) But these simply opened each slave in the editor and no run same as what I got with Fubar.. So noticing the "edit" in the command... I said... what the hell why don't i try "run" instead of edit... sure enough it worked... problem is all three ran at the same time... not good... So scrolling to the bottom of that Wiki example it says used ShellExecuteWait to run one at a time.. ShellExecuteWait("E:Help_Folder!!!__Mary_Pope_HandyConsecutive_au3_files_RUNslave1.au3", "", "", "run", @SW_MAXIMIZE) ShellExecuteWait("E:Help_Folder!!!__Mary_Pope_HandyConsecutive_au3_files_RUNslave2.au3", "", "", "run", @SW_MAXIMIZE) ShellExecuteWait("E:Help_Folder!!!__Mary_Pope_HandyConsecutive_au3_files_RUNslave3.au3", "", "", "run", @SW_MAXIMIZE) PERFECT! So I would love to give each of you 1/3 credit but does not work that way... but thanks to you all anyway...
