PDF Extraction Help

Hello,

 

I am very new to AutoIT (today 07 July 2014) but I am in need of some very skilled assistance.

 

I am trying to automate some functions in Adobe Acrobat which consists of taking a 'master' file (if you will) and extracting pages from that pdf and placing the extracted into corresponding documents with a document number. 

 

example.

 

"Master.pdf" - contains cover pages

"abc-0001.pdf" - needs specific cover page from 'master.pdf' file. (abc-0001.pdf needs abc-0001 cover page from master.pdf file)

 

I am dealing with 6000 plus documents and doing this task 6000x can get a little tedious....

 

If you can help please chime in. If you need additional info please let me know as well.

FWIW, I've used PDFSAM to extract pages from a PDF file.

I couldnt install either of these programs due to admin rights at my work computer.

Anyone know the AutoIt procedure?

I know that Acrobat has a COM API.  You can create an instance of the Acrobat object and the document and manipulate it that way.  I would look for the COM API documentation and see if you can do what you are trying to accomplish that way.

Actually there is no way to do that in native AutoIt.

You must use other software like mentioned above, of course probably this can be done with Adobe Acrobat (Remark: I do not mean Acrobat Reader)

You can download a portable version (zip file) of PDFSam from SourceForge. You could also take a look at Sejda.

I use this one in a PHP project ... it is pretty powerful also: I use the server version that you can call from the command line.
