ArianRat Posted August 10, 2014 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Hello to everyone this is my first post but I have been using AutoIt for a while but have problem I need assistance with. Here is the code : Func Example() Local $sFilePath = "jte.eee" ;Local MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "", "Path: " & $sFilePath) Local $hFileOpen = FileOpen($sFilePath, $FO_READ) Local $sFileRead = FileRead($hFileOpen) If $hFileOpen = -1 Then MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "", "An error occurred when reading the file.") Return False EndIf MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "", "Open: " & $hFileOpen) FileFlush($hFileOpen) FileSetPos($hFileOpen, -40, 2) MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "", "Position: " & FileGetPos($hFileOpen) & @CRLF & "Data: " & @CRLF & FileRead($hFileOpen)) FileSetPos($hFileOpen, 984, 0) ;$FILE_BEGIN) MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "", "Position: " & FileGetPos($hFileOpen) & @CRLF & "Data: " & @CRLF & FileRead($hFileOpen)) FileClose($hFileOpen) EndFunc ;==>Example This works but when I change the first line to : Local $sFilePath = @TempDir & "tmpjte.exe"; The file seems to be read but the FileSetPos does not fuction. Any ideas ArianRat Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
careca Posted August 10, 2014 Share Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Seems to work fine here, it just doesn't output data at filesetpos, but i don't have the file you have, so at the same offset it may not have anything. PS: you should encode the code with autoit tag, it's the blue square with an A. water Posted August 10, 2014 Share Posted August 10, 2014 And you should do some error checking in your script. Every AutoIt function indicates an error by setting the return value and/or the macros @error and @extended. Check for errors and only proceed if all went well with the last function. ArianRat Posted August 10, 2014 Author Share Posted August 10, 2014 Thank you all, I took all the error checks out because the code works, As usual I had a break and realised the mistake. I have now sorted the code. ArianRat Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
