String To Hex - japanese characters

This function doesn't work reliably and portably for anything but 7-bit ASCII.

If you look at how it's implemented:

Func _StringToHex($sString)
    Return Hex(StringToBinary($sString))
EndFunc   ;==>_StringToHex

you realize it's very easy to replace by something that will work over the whole UCS-2 character set (so-called "BMP" or plane 0 of Unicode).

Which encoding do you want? UTF8, UTF16-LE, something else?

Just make a __StringToHex with the corresponding parameter passed in StringToBinary (see help).

I'll post a ticket for that.

I don't get it either.

Your string contains the following Unicode codepoints, in this order (unsurprisingly):

カ KATAKANA LETTER KA, unicode codepoint 0x030AB, decimal 12459

タ KATAKANA LETTER TA, unicode codepoint 0x30BF, decimal 12479

カ KATAKANA LETTER KA, unicode codepoint 0x030AB, decimal 12459

ナ KATAKANA LETTER NA, unicode codepoint 0x30CA, decimal 12490

How do you expect to obtain what you say you need: %26%231071%3B%26%23923%3BZ%26%231256%3B%26%231071%3B ???

On the contrary, the result you cite is nothing but the valid encoded UTF8 representation of カタカナ
