SciTE Console colour correction

Hi All,

I've been experimenting with the colour options for the SciTE script editor included with AutoIT's full installation, and seem to be having a bit of trouble achieving the colours I'm after....

After reading the given documentation for ConsoleWrite (the function i'm trying to use), I can see that the default colours are chosen with the following parameters:

! = Red
> = Blue
- = Orange
+ = Green

However, I'm receiving the following;

Capture.png

As you can see, the output is still formatted with colours, Only they're not what I was expecting.

I assume this is a setting in SciTE rather than the AutoIT language, Has anyone come across any settings within SciTE regarding console colouring? I've been through various properties and settings for SciTE. but can't seem to find anything that references console or colour.

May sound like i'm grasping at straws a bit here, But I'm after formatting certain outputs with red text more than anything.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Javi.

It still works for me with the correct colors. It looks like you have loaded some changes colorscheme, maybe you also have changes in there for these output pane colors?

Hi Jos,

Thanks for your response, That would make sense as to why the colours don't match up.

The only problem is, I'm pretty certain I haven't edited the colour scheme... In fact, after googling how to change the colour scheme in SciTE, I can confirm I have not changed any .properties file for SciTE.

The only thing I can think of that may have changed the colour scheme is >ISN AutoIT Studio when I installed it a month or so back.

I've checked my SciTE installation dir, And the 'others.properties' mentioned in the SciTE faq doesn't exist... So I'd assume the colours i'm seeing are the default colours for the SciTE editor, and i simply don't have the autoIT version of the properties file.

Thanks for your help though, It's definitely led me on the right path.

Many Thanks

Javi

EDIT: After completely uninstalling SciTE and AutoIT, then reinstalling the all in one package, I am still having the same issue.

The issue seems to be related to the complete installation (or at least every version I've downloaded) as the SciTE dir contains hardly any of the custom properties, Below is the zip folder for SciTE, and the SciTE dir after the complete installation is run:

upload.png

after adding these files to the installation directory the problem is solved.

Thanks for your help.

What all-in-one package? Based on the picture you only installed AutoIt. SciTE4AutoIt comes with it own installer.

That is correct, I installed the 'full installation' of AutoIT, which after going back and reading the software details contains a 'cut down' version of SciTE...

It's a little odd that the full installation doesn't include the full directory of files... Surely it's not a full installation and more of a core file installation.

But then I suppose you could argue that the additional files for SciTE are in no way necessary.

Still, It would be nice if they were optional in the installer package... Much like the examples are.

Thanks

Javi.

They are available separately because not everyone uses SciTE, and it makes the download smaller. If you want the full set of tools, then download the installer for Scite4AutoIt3, or download the individual tools which are also available separately for download.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Would you Javi or some one from SciTE please tell us where we can get the missing file? I grabbed the FAQ from the link posted "thank you" Now where do we get openLocalOptions files because I click openlocalOption SciTE.properties opens In fact openlocaluserOptions does the same I also have 2 links to au3.properties that are

# SciTE settings for AutoIt v3

#

# July 2014 - Jos

#

# *** Specify here your AutoIt Include directories  ***

Are there any plugins for SciTE or better yet any upgrades for KODA? KODA has issues.. older versions worked better.. they seldom got laggy like this version does. and they didn't forget all the button names and very seldom crashed.

One more thing, AU3info seems to need a vacation with this version,, he just hangs around and wiggles for a while and then tells windows he is non responsive,, I tried CPR,, but just got my lips dirty from the screen..

Many thanks.. No biggie. guys.. just takes a lot longer to use AutoHotkey tools and convert.. YES 3 CLEAN installs and the same issues//
