Calling timer on function

 Share

Recommended Posts

Can only speculate:

$iTimer = TimerInit()
YourFunction()
$iDiff = TimerDiff($iTimer)
ConsoleWrite($iDiff & @CRLF)

Func YourFunction()
    Sleep(2000)
EndFunc

Just saw your post.  You want a timeout...explain what you are doing...waiting for a process to no longer exist?

$iPid = Run("notepad.exe")
$iTimer = TimerInit()
While ProcessExists($iPid) And TimerDiff($iTimer)<10000
    ProcessClose($iPid)
WEnd
ConsoleWrite("done in " & TimerDiff($iTimer)/1000  & @CRLF)

; example of not exiting, because all conditions are not met
$iTimer = TimerInit()
Do
Until False Or TimerDiff($iTimer)>10000
ConsoleWrite("done in " & TimerDiff($iTimer)/1000  & @CRLF)

First off, don't use Call unless you absolutely have to, it's unnecessary. Second, your call statement is written wrong because you're missing the parentheses around the function name.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

How to ask questions the smart way!

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.
