Hello,

I'm new to this community and to AutoIt as well :sorcerer: .

I'm trying to create GUI Menu as shown in attached picture.

43Ep0OHT.png

As you can see, there are four menu entries:"File", "Settings", "Graphs" and "?".

For "?" entry, there is no sub-menu entry and I'd like to pop up a new dialogue window when users click on "?".

Looks like Autoit doesn't allow using GUIGetMsg() to check if  user has clicked on "?".

I have tried my best reading function reference, example codes on Google, can someone give some help please?

That is not possible, but..

You can always try out this library: >link

They have included an example as well.

Also, welcome to the AutoIt forum altex ;)

altex,

Actually you can do this by using a little trick: ;)

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$mFilemenu = GUICtrlCreateMenu("File")
$mExititem = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("Exit", $mFilemenu)
$mSpecialitem = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("?", -1) ; I belong to the main menu

GUISetState()

While 1
    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE, $mExititem
            Exit
        Case $mSpecialitem
            MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "Hi", "I can be actioned!")
    EndSwitch
WEnd
M23

Thanks, this trick works and very helpful.
