Check if a folder exists

What is the best way to check if a folder exists on the remote FTP server?

I want to check before the function FTP_Dir Put Contents  if a folder exists.

try to cd into the folder. If it exists, you will receive a responde "250 <something>", if not "550 <something>"

Thank you, but I would like to know how others are doing to check if a directory exists or not before making the upoad, I have searched and read in the help but I have not found anything. Let me know if you're talking about dos commands to be executed in a batch, thank you.
