Zohar
Hi When shuld I use ObjCreate() and when should I use ObjGet()? Thank you
water
Example: When you try to connect to a running Excel instance you would use ObjGet. When there is no running Excel instance you need to use ObjCreate to start up Excel. Please have a look at function _Excel_Open. Zohar
Thank you How can I know If I can use ObjGet()? I need a way to check if it exists already, so I can use ObjGet(), and if it does not exist, then I need to use ObjCreate().. Is there a function for that? water
First try ObjGet. An error indicates that there is no running instance (or some other error). Then use ObjCreate to start up the application. JohnOne
I imagine ProcessExists would be just as effective. water
Correct, as long as you know the name of the process for sure. What you miss is the object returned by ObjGet/ObjCreate. I prefer not to changes methods. When working with COM I like to check the existance with a COM method.
