Pixel not checking?

I want the program to:

Use Send function when center pixel color (set when the function is called) is different from a constantly updated pixel color

Initial color variable called "color" <--- is always static

New color variable called "color1"

when color1 != color ('not equals' operator)

Send("yay")

Sleep(100)

This is my mini-pseudocode

$color1 keeps getting the value 0

The code works for the message boxes

The problem is the color check never happens (at least, i never get the input from the Send function)

What could be the problem?

Here is the actual code

Func fire()

  $pressx = 1
  MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "success", "woo", 3)

  $color = PixelGetColor(@DesktopWidth / 2, @DesktopHeight / 2)

    While $pressx == 1 ; exits when "x" is pressed
      $color1 = PixelGetColor(@DesktopWidth / 2, @DesktopHeight / 2)

      If Not $color1 == $color Then
        Send("yay")
        Sleep(500)
      EndIf
 
      If _IsPressed(58) Then
        $pressx = 0
      EndIf

Update

I printed the value of $color and got variable results (at least the results i expected to see)

but $color1 is not being checked

Figured out that

If Not $color1 == $color Then

had to be in parenthesis such as

If Not($color1 == $color) Then
