lee321987 Posted November 8, 2014 Share Posted November 8, 2014 In the example for IniReadSection, this line: Local $sSection = "Title=AutoIt" & @CRLF & "Version=" & @AutoItVersion & @CRLF & "OS=" & @OSVersion should not use @CRLF, because $sSection variable is later used as data for IniWriteSection (which expects @LF delimiters). But there is no format check, the @error will never be set to 1. I did open a ticket on the bug tracker #2437, where the answer was : However, absolutely no checking is done on the string format at all, so completely invalid strings can still be written. That is more of an issue. I still believe it is up to programmer to make sure the data they are writing is correct though. So at least, the help page should be updated, no ? iamtheky Posted November 8, 2014 Share Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) i dont know what the middle segment is trying to convey, looks like a small stroke But im guessing his example was not one of a bad datatype? on that premise: if it says it sets error to 1 at a bad data type, but does not check data type. I am curious as to why that was a 'wont fix', does it actually check datatype and return an error?. also while digressed to iniwritesection help: the array must be 2-dimensional and the second dimension must be 2 elements what does "the second dimension must be 2 elements" mean? the first example declares a normal 2d array, with what appear to be single elements in the second dimension (im assuming because again i dont know what that means). Is the current statement attempting to explain anything more than: "the array must be 2d." * I think i understand it now. "You have to have two values, otherwise you would just use the string method?"
