Toggling a function with a hotkey

I am writing a script that has several functions. I have added an if statement at the end of each function that reads

Global $Debug = 1
HotKeySet("{F12}","ToggleDebug")

While 1
    ToolTip("Debug Status: ", & $Debug,0,0)
    SendH()
WEmd

Func SendH()
Send("h")
If $Debug == 1 Then
     MsgBox(0,"Debug","SendH",2)
EndIf
EndFunc

Func ToggleDebug() ;First attempt
    If $Debug == 1 Then
        $Debug = 0
    ElseIf $Debug = 1 Then
        $Debug = 0
    EndIf
EndFunc

Func ToggleDebug() ;Second attempt
     Switch $Debug
          Case 0
                $Debug = 1
          Case 1
                $Debug = 0
     EndSwitch
EndFunc

I have tried both ToggleDebug functions listed above and neither work. Is the F12 key off limits or what am I doing wrong?

Get Scite to add a popup when you use a 3rd party UDF -> http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/scite/docs/SciTE4AutoIt3/user-calltip-manager.html

computergroove,

Is the F12 key off limits

I take it reading the Help file is far too difficult for a Saturday? ;)

The following hotkeys cannot be set:

[...]

F12 - It is also reserved by Windows, according to its API.
