autoit-3.3.13.19 compiler throws error unable to write .tmp file Reported by: jmichae3@… Owned by:   Milestone:   Component: AutoIt Version: 3.3.13.19 Severity: None Keywords:   Cc:   Description

just compile anything. this has been happening since 3.3.12.1.
Aut2Exe Error
(X) Error: Error copying source to destination file.
C:UsersJim-MichaelsAppDataLocalAutoItv3Aut2Exeaut7725.tmp.exe
[OK]

this path is nothing like where I have stored the program.
does it recreate a complete copy of itself in %APPDATA%?

I know I posted a bug report on this before and it got closed out of hand.

I discovered Norton 360 is NOT removing the temp file, otherwise it would have logged the event, and it doesn't.

it's simply a bug in these 2 compiler versions.

for these last 2 compiler versions, I have not been able to produce an exe.

I have no clue why. is there some requirement I am missing?

3.19aut2exeAutoItSC_x64.bin" /comp 4 /pack /unicode

doesn't matter what switches, x86 or x64, same problem.

at least au3check works.

also, tidy.exe in the download area does get removed by norton 360, possibly just because it's new.

I need a patched up-to-date beta compiler that actually generates an exe.

please. thanks.

program is

$x=1

and is named 1gui.au3

jmichae3,

it's simply a bug in these 2 compiler versions

No it is not - this has been covered ad nauseam in the forums, which is why your bug report was "closed out of hand". The new compiler creates temporary files in C:UsersUser_NameAppDataLocalAutoItv3Aut2Exe and this problem is caused by an AV not allowing the creation of these files. You need to add that folder to the "Exceptions" of your AV so that the files can be created normally. :)

Quick question to the OP, why are you using the /ansi and /unicode parameters? Also, I'm pretty sure that the /bin parameter is invalid for the latest builds, and my installation of 3.3.13.19 doesn't have this file (aut2exeAutoItSC_x64.bin) at all.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I know what they are, I was asking why you were using them at all? (unicode/ansi) It's not like it's needed any longer to use ansi.

I had the same type of error message when I tried to set an icon to a compiled script and the path was wrong.
