Im trying to get today date from SQL server.

The Query works in SQL Management Studio, returns the date, but in autoit returns blank.

Im doing something wrong...

Any ideias?

Thanks

connectDB()

$sQuery = "SELECT CAST(GETDATE() AS DATE)"
$result = $conn.Execute($sQuery)
MsgBox(0, "Date:", $result.Value)
msgbox(0, "", $result)

disconnectDB()

I suggest to add a COM error handler to retrieve bettererror information. Add this lines at the top of your script:

#include <Debug.au3>
_DebugSetup()
_DebugCOMError()

There is not enough to go by to solve this one. Are you using a UDF for your DB connection?  Have you tried other quries that work?

The conection to the DB its OK, no errors

Yes i have tried other querys but from my own tables, and works.

Func ConnectBD()

    $conn = ObjCreate("ADODB.Connection")
    $DSN = "DRIVER={SQL Server};SERVER=RT434434343,1433;DATABASE=AUTOMAT;UID=userid;PWD=blabla;"

    $conn.Open($DSN)

    If @error Then
        MsgBox(0, "ERROR", "Failed to connect to the database")
        Exit
    EndIf

EndFunc   ;==>ConnectBD

Please check the type of the returned variable.

What does

MsgBox(0, "", VarGetType($result))

return?

  • Solution

Could you please try:

With $Result
    While Not .EOF ; repeat until End-Of-File (EOF) is reached
        ; Write the content of all fields to the console separated by | by processing the fields collection
        For $oField In .Fields
           ConsoleWrite($oField.Value & "|")
        Next
        ConsoleWrite(@CR)
        .MoveNext ; Move To the Next record
    WEnd
EndWith
