I am having some issues with RegEx processing some inf files.

Here is the data im working with...

Signature="$WINDOWS NT$"
Class=SCSIAdapter
ClassGUID={4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Provider=%HP%
DriverVer=03/20/2013,8.0.4.0

And Here are some of my tests (Return an array of arrays) ...

(.+)(?:\s+)?\=(?:\s+)?(.+)((?:\s+)?,(?:\s+)?(.+))?

Result:

Signaure|"$WINDOWS_NT$"

Class|SCSIAdapter

ClassGUID|{4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Provider|%HP%
DriverVer|03/20/2013,8.0.4.0
(.+)(?:\s+)?\=(?:\s+)?(.+)(?:\s+)?,(?:\s+)?(.+)
Result:
DriverVer|03/20/2013|8.0.4.0
(.+)(?:\s+)?\=(?:\s+)?(?:"?(.+)"?)(?:(?:\s+)?;.+)?

Result:

Signaure|$WINDOWS_NT$"

Class|SCSIAdapter

ClassGUID|{4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Provider|%HP%
DriverVer|03/20/2013,8.0.4.0

Target Result:

Signaure|$WINDOWS_NT$

Class|SCSIAdapter

ClassGUID|{4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Provider|HP
DriverVer|03/20/2013,8.0.4.0

Basically, Remove all quotes, split commas, and strip comments

Any ideas?

You could probably use the INI file functions on an INF file, they're the same file format.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

Back up and restore Windows user files _Array.au3 - Modified array functions that include support for 2D arrays.  -  ColorChooser - An add-on for SciTE that pops up a color dialog so you can select and paste a color code into a script.  -  Customizable Splashscreen GUI w/Progress Bar - Create a custom "splash screen" GUI with a progress bar and custom label.  -  _FileGetProperty - Retrieve the properties of a file  -  SciTE Toolbar - A toolbar demo for use with the SciTE editor  -  GUIRegisterMsg demo - Demo script to show how to use the Windows messages to interact with controls and your GUI.  -   Latin Square password generator

Tried that, but I could not get them to work the way i needed, and I need them to be able to process an INF from memory. I tried other udf already made for that but they fail on certain ones, so im making my own.

Have you tried using

IniReadSection
StringReplace

I know you said you tried that, but this seems like it would be very easy to pull each section, then look through the 2d array looking for quotes and commas. No problem if you have tried this, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. ;)

The exactly expected result is not clear, maybe this ?

#include <Array.au3>

$str = 'Signature="$WINDOWS NT$"' & @crlf & _
        'Class=SCSIAdapter' & @crlf & _
        'ClassGUID={4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}' & @crlf & _
        'Provider=%HP%' & @crlf & _
        'DriverVer=03/20/2013,8.0.4.0'

$res = StringRegExp($str, '(.+)="?([^",\r\n]+),?([^"\r\n]+)?', 4)
For $i = 0 To UBound($res) - 1
    $a = $res[$i]
    _ArrayDisplay($a)
Next

That helps.

What about a string like this?

DiskId1 = "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio. Installation Disk #1" ; {PlaceHolder="High Definition Audio"}

Just trying to extract DiskId1|Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio. Installation Disk #1
