Long hex number can not compile

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This one failed to compile:

RegWrite("HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0CommonUserInfo","UserName","REG_BINARY", 0x00000049004D005300530043)

This one work if I delete the last 8 numbers:

RegWrite("HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0CommonUserInfo","UserName","REG_BINARY", 0x00000049004D0053)

How can I make the first line work?

It tried ...BINARY", 0x00000049004D0053 & 0x00530043) but stil doesn't compile.

Thanks

Maybe you could try it using a string instead of an actual number, there's a limit as to how large of a number AutoIt can handle, and I'd guess that one is far too large.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

can Binary("0x00000049004D005300530043") work in this case?

can Binary("0x00000049004D005300530043") work in this case?

No. Everything starting with a 0x...is hex. It is accepted if you replace Binary with Hex as long as I use 0x...at the beginning so the system understand it. Hex is made of 16 numbers after the x so 0x00000049004D005300530043 is invalid.

Thanks for everybody's answer  :)

For those who need it one day, here's a solution that works for me :

RegWrite("HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0CommonUserInfo","UserName","REG_BINARY", Binary("0x4300530053004D00")& Binary("0x49000000")).

-I wrote the numbers in the wrong order the first time

-By using Binary autoit fonction, I was able to merge with "&".

I meant this:

RegWrite("HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\UserInfo","UserName","REG_BINARY", "0x00000049004D005300530043")
