Is there a snippet manger for Autoit?

Hi

Is anyone aware of some form of snippet manager for Autoit that works in a similar way to some of the Visual Studio Snippet Managers. Anything that I could right click and select from a list of prepared Functions and just insert into my scripts..

Thanks

Thank you.

Has anyone been able to add a right click context menu within autoit SciTE editor ? I'm considering implementing something like this but within the editor right click functions. I have already been able to add this to the tools menu but I'm curious whether this can be taken further..

Thanks again

Add to your SciTEUser.properties file a line like this.

user.context.menu=||Add as Snippet|1116|

That creates a context menu item that reads Add as Snippet, and that item is linked to command #16.

Here's how an actual right click menu is set up in my installation for commands I've created in SciTE.

user.context.menu=||Add as Snippet|1116|Google Selected|1140|Google Autoit Site|1141|Sort Lines|1145|

# 40 google Selected
command.40.*="http://www.google.com/search?q=$(CurrentSelection)"
command.subsystem.40.*=2
command.quiet.40.*=1
# 41 google Selected on the AutoIt forums
command.41.*="https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Awww.autoitscript.com%2Fforum+$(CurrentSelection)"
command.subsystem.41.*=2
command.quiet.41.*=1

These two commands, #s 40 and 41, are linked to the context menu items so that when selected will run the command. Command #45 is linked to a command that runs a lua script saved in PersonalTools.lua by this command.

# 45 Sort Lines
command.name.45.*=Sort Lines
command.45.*=sort_text
command.subsystem.45.*=3

That's exactly what I wanted. Thank you.

Could you elaborate on your implemented lua script. What do you use it for,? How useful is it just out of curiousity.

And one more thing.... Where are you added snippets coming from (what is the command  command #16. linked to)

I had that in my context menu list already, not sure if it was connected to a function previously but I'd have to guess it was probably tied to something that comes with Scite4AutoIt3 that I don't use.

The lua script I use is for sorting lines, it's not used much in my scripts, but comes in handy when dealing with a text file with a list of something that I want to have in an ordered list. You highlight the text to sort, right click it, and select Sort Lines and it runs this lua script.

function sort_text()
  local sel = editor:GetSelText()
  if #sel == 0 then return end
  local eol = string.match(sel, "\n$")
  local buf = lines(sel)
  --table.foreach(buf, print) --used for debugging
  table.sort(buf)
  local out = table.concat(buf, "\n")
  if eol then out = out.."\n" end
  editor:ReplaceSel(out)
end

This function is in my PersonalTools.lua file.

That is likely a link to the old snippet utility Gary wrote but is removed due to lack of maintenance. #16 is now used for an SVN function.
