Get text of parent in treeview

I have been trying for days to figure out a good way of doing this looking at a few different functions, but I haven't found something that works yet.

I have a tree view and I get the highlighted value when you hit a button as long as the item has no children:

If _GUICtrlTreeView_GetChildren($idTreeView_1,_GUICtrlTreeView_GetSelection($idTreeView_1)) = False Then $SelectedVal=GUICtrlRead($idTreeView_1, 1)

I'm trying to figure out a way of capturing that records parent text (and potentially its parent's parent)

Is there a UDF I should be looking into? The _GUICtrlTreeView_GetParent functions seem to return back Hex and when I try to do a Guictrlread on the hex, it just gives a 0.

What am I overlooking?

Jewtus,

GUICtrlRead only works with the ControlID returned when creating native controls. The _GUICtrlTreeView_* function return a handle, so you need to use _GUICtrlTreeView_GetText to read the parent. :)

Prefect!

_GUICtrlTreeView_GetText($idTreeView_1,_GUICtrlTreeView_GetParentHandle($idTreeView_1,_GUICtrlTreeView_GetSelection($idTreeView_1)))
