FileOpen() the file in binary mode.

According to the help file:

#include <FileConstants.au3>
FileOpen("filename", $FO_BINARY)

  • Developers

care to be a little more explicit than "same error" since you haven't provided anything for us to test with?

EDIT:

  • Are you really trying to read the whole 1 Gb file into a variable and then trying to show that in a GUI?
  • Why are you using ProcessWaitClose($FR)?
  • Why are you doing the _StringToHex($FR)? Isn't $FR already in Hex notation?

Adding to what Jos just said, look at the following:

Local $b = Binary("abcdef")
ConsoleWrite("Type of $b = " & VarGetType($b) & @LF)
Local $h = _StringToHex($b)
ConsoleWrite("Type of $h = " & VarGetType($h) & ", content = '" & $h & "', size = " & StringLen($h) & @LF)

Now, given that an AutoIt string is Unicode, each character takes 16-bits, aka 2 bytes. So a 1Gb binary input + a 8Gb hex string = a total of 9Gb for variables, barring other uses elsewhere in your script. That's is a lot to allocate, much more than Windows is going to give to a process.

Also are you seriously going to display a 4Gcharacters hex string of hex string (yes, two levels of hex!)? What is the intended purpose of this, lest nonsense?

I try 2 method

1st not show header text....

Case $Button1
            $FP = FileOpenDialog("", "", "(*.*)")
            FileChangeDir(@ScriptDir)
                $BufferSize = 0x80000
                $SrcFileSize = FileGetSize($FP)
                $SrcFileHandle = FileOpen($FP)
                For $i = 1 To Ceiling($SrcFileSize / $BufferSize)
                GUICtrlSetData($Edit1, _StringToHex(FileRead($SrcFileHandle, $BufferSize)))
                Next

2nd open 215mb file Error: allocating memory........

Case $Button1
            $FP = FileOpenDialog("", "", "(*.*)")
            FileChangeDir(@ScriptDir)
                $SrcFileSize = FileGetSize($FP)
                $SrcFileHandle = FileOpen($FP,$FO_BINARY)
                GUICtrlSetData($Edit1, FileRead($SrcFileHandle, $SrcFileSize))
