Looking to hide taskbar button(s)

I'm looking for something similar but the code in this thread isn't working for me.
Say for example I'm looking to hide Notepad from the taskbar and make it have all it's options in the tray instead. I got the tray side of things working but still can't get rid of the taskbar button (you know, where it minimizes to).

Can anyone shed some light on an up-to-date script for this? Maybe the above doesn't work in Windows 7 / 8 & 10. Many thanks in advance.

When you posted in the above linked thread, did you notice that the last post dates from over 10 years ago?

Please do not necro-post like this again - just open a new thread and link to the old one ( like I have now done for you) if it is absolutely necessary for understanding the problem. We ask you to do this for two main reasons:

- 1. The language advances and the functionality might well be included in core or UDF code by now

- 2. The changes in language syntax mean that it is likely that code from more than a couple of years ago may well not run under the current release interpreter without significant modification.

Almost there. But I want to do this for another application so say for example Notepad. I found something that almost does it but it also hides the Notepad window completely.

I'm having trouble finding further documentation for this. So far I have the following:

$oTaskbarList.DeleteTab($windowhandle)

That deletes the item from the taskbar which is great but I can't seem to find a way to bring it back again. Is that even possible after it's been deleted?
