doestergaard
Hi,Im currently writing a script, which will delete all files and subdirectories withing a root folder (e.g. D:\). The script itself is working fine, but i somehow want to sort the file list im getting from the _FileListToArrayFunction to be by type alphabetically. Let me get you an example: D:\Folder1D:\Folder2D:\Folder3D:\File1D:\File2D:\File3 The above example is how i want it, but the _FileListToArray returns the file list sorted just alphabetically (by name) i think A good example is when you are browsing the System32 folder in Windows. Then you first get Folder shown from A-Z then the files from A-Z How can this be done?Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance
kaisies
One of the file list to array options is to return directories files or both. Youd have to use the function twice (once folder, once file) the concenate them
MikahS
Have you tried using the _ArraySort function? doestergaard
@kaisiesI can do that ofc but i was thinking if you could retrieve the filelist then use stringregexp to sort the filelist? But I can use your suggestion, thx@MikahS:Yes, it only sort your file list alphabetically based on name, not on type Anyway thank you for the quick reply! MikahS
Apologies @doestergaard, but it's my pleasure. Another suggestion is using _FileListToArrayRec. BrewManNH
If you're deleting the files, why do you need the list sorted? If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. MilesAhead
Apologies @doestergaard, but it's my pleasure. Another suggestion is using _FileListToArrayRec.Or you could mimic what every c standard library qsort has done for decades. Pass in a pointer to a custom comparison function. I use a string as that's how it is done in .au3 ArraySortCustom.au3 Edited December 13, 2015 by MilesAhead Trong 1 My Freeware Page
