argumentum Posted July 6, 2015 Share Posted July 6, 2015 (edited) AutoIt3Help.exe resides in the same folder as the help files, AutoIt3.exe and AutoIt3_x64.exe .When an example is clicked to open , windows handle the execution.My request is to have the AutoIt3.exe in the current folder, run the example file, when the registry say is on a different folder than the current.In that way any standard installation will be unaffected and a separate version elsewhere would also run it's current version.I have no clue if that can be implemented in the help file in conjunction with AutoIt3Help.exe, but I'm posting because, I believe it is possible, then again, don't even know how it works.Thanks in advance Edit: also it'd run when windows don't know how to handle the .au3 extension Edited July 6, 2015 by argumentum Follow the link to my code contribution ( and other things too ). Is there a relation to your portability post? I have the same issue when I have AutoIt on a thumb drive, which 50% of the time I do, or on a shared drive. You can't open the example scripts from within the help file. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Then one can see that registry data is relied upon for functioning. In my view, one should be able to run SciTE / AutoIt as one item independently of current setup.
