If it's an OEM key it's tied to the motherboard (you're allowed to change everything else except the motherboard). If you replace the board you need a new license. Sometimes if you ring the number they'll issue a new key, but it's not a given. It will need to be activated in Windows 7 before the upgrade to Win 10.
