Send command not working at all.

Recommended Posts

Hi all, new here. I want it so that a hotkey "a" triggers some string "hi". The below script isn't working. This is both with and without #requireadmin

I'm using windows 7.

#requireadmin
#include <misc.au3>

Func aPress()
  Send("hi")
EndFunc

While 1
   Sleep(50)
   If _IsPressed("41") Then
      aPress()
      Sleep(200)
      EndIf
   WEnd
      Func _DoNothing()
      EndFunc

Now, if I replace Send("hi") with Run("notepad.exe"), this will open notepad as expected (when I press "a"). I've also tried the hotkeyset function but this wasn't working either. Any help appreciated.

rancidman,

Welcome to the AutoIt forums.

To which app are you trying to send the "hi"?

P.S.

When you post code please use Code tags - see here how to do it.  Then you get a scrolling box and syntax colouring as you can see above now I have added the tags.

rancidman,

Works fine for me in SciTE. So what is the active window in which it does not work?
