Does TypeLibrary work with AutoIt ?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have created a COM TypeLibrary in VB.Net. But i can't access it with "ObjCreate" function. I did this with a walkthrough in MSDN site. I read the COM article in autoit help file. As per help file, my type library not shows a "IDispatch" in OLEviewer. Please give me some guidances. Thanks in advance.

Net libraries should be exposed to ActiveX by developer (the person/company who make this desired DLL file, should use ComVisible feature ), regardless of this you should register it with regasm.exe

Try to search on forum for "regasm"

Hi mLipok, I have used the visual studio command prompt for registering my dll with regasm. And it was a success. Now i need to test my COM object. Thanks

Anyway, COM Programming is interesting. Last day i have made a com dll assembly in VB.NET to open an Access database(*.accdb) and select data from it. It is a function which takes database file path and SQL Query string as parameters and it will give an ArrayList as output. I have tested it in AutoIt. ObjCreate function is working properly but it didn't gave me the result in _ArrayDisplay function. I wondered and then played a lot with that code. At last i found the reason. ArrayList is the output of my COM object's method. It didn't suuport AutoIt. But i can easily get the data in Access database. And my question is; what data type should i use in these type of functions ?. Or is there any option in autoit to convert ArrayList to an array ?

This is my code

Local $DBpath = "E:\KSEB METER READING\MRDB.accdb"
Local $Cstr = "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source = E:\KSEB METER READING\MRDB.accdb;"
Local $SQL_Query = "SELECT Reading FROM DMR" ; Reading is my field name in DMR table
Local $dbCon = ObjCreate("OLEDB_COM.OleCom")
If Not IsObj($dbCon) Then
    Alert("Object is not Ready")
    Exit
Else
    Alert("Object is Ready ")
EndIf

Local $ArrayList = $dbCon.SelectFromDB($DBpath,$SQL_Query)
For $i = 0 To $ArrayList.Count - 1
    ConsoleWrite($ArrayList($i) & @CRLF)
Next
