Problem with func. _FileWriteToLine in AutoIt V 3.3.12.0 and higher

Hi,

i have a problem with func. "_FileWriteToLine" in AutoIt Version 3.3.14.0.
Example:

#include <File.au3>
$fileFullPath = "C:\Temp\test.txt"
FileDelete($fileFullPath)
_FileCreate($fileFullPath)
_FileWriteToLine($fileFullPath, 1, "Line 1", true)

Line 1 will not be written into the file.

AutoIt Version 3.3.10.2 or less runs with the same syntax without problems.
When I insert a "CRLF" in the file, it goes without problems.

Is that a bug or a feature?

Can anyone help?

I think this is a bug. Could be updates by adding the shown extra line for the UDF:

Local $aArray = FileReadToArray($sFilePath)
    Local $iUBound = UBound($aArray) - 1
    If $iLine = 1 And $iUBound = -1 Then $iUBound=0  ; <= Added line 
    If ($iUBound + 1) < $iLine Then Return SetError(1, 0, 0)

You should add some error checking to your script. What is the value of @error and the return value after each function?

Jos,

I thought we agreed in this thread that the UDF would not add lines if they did not exist?  The function does return @‌error = 1 to tell you that is what is happening, so it is not as if it is a silent fail. I would not class this as a bug.

True, but one could argue that when Adding line 1 when no records exist, or adding line 2 when the file contains one line should work, as no additional records need to be added first.

If we are prepared to add 1 line, we might as well add more than one - but I would like to see this as an option (even if it means another parameter.
