WinWait() does not return handle of window?

Recommended Posts

From documentation:

Return Value

Success:a handle to the requested window.

Failure:

0 if timeout occurred.

But look at this image, debug doesn't output handle id.

Code sample:

#include <Debug.au3>

_DebugSetup()
$hWnd = WinWait("Adobe Reader")
_DebugOut($hWnd) ; doesn't show
_DebugOut("4545") ; shows

okloks,

Welcome to the AutoIt forums.

_DebugOut expects a string datatype as the parameter and you are passing a handle. If you check the error returned from the function call  it tells you this:

Failure: 0 and sets the @error flag to non-zero.
@error: 1 - $sOutput is an incompatible type.

Just force the datatype and it will display correctly:

_DebugOut(String($hWnd))
