What happened to GetKeyState?

I've been searching for a few hours now, and can not seem to find out how to retrieve the physical state of a key/mouse press. (i.e. whether the user is physically holding it down).

I know about _IsPressed, and _IsPressed works fine in MOST cases. Take the following EX.1, for example.

Ex.1)

#include <Misc.au3>
While 1
    While _IsPressed("02")
        mouseclick("Left")
        sleep(10)
    WEnd
WEnd

However if I want to do something like the following in Ex.2.

Ex.2)

#include <Misc.au3>
While 1
    While _IsPressed("01")
        mouseclick("Left")
        sleep(10)
    WEnd
WEnd

It stops functioning.

Basically I'm trying to mimic an AutoHotKey script that can accomplish Ex.2.

While (GetKeyState("LButton", "P"))
{   MouseClick, left,,, 1, 0, D
    Sleep 10
    MouseClick, left,,, 1, 0, U
    Sleep 10
}
