GuiCtrlSetBkColor & GuiCtrlCreateTab

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I have a 2 part problem. First all, I use Menus prior to starting to use tabs on this particular program I am creating.

File Menus worked flawlessly until I added in tabs. Now File Menus no longer work.

Second question is how do you configure the colors for the Tabs body, they just appear white and in the help file its white as well.

Func Matrix()

$DPSMatrixCalc = GUICreate("DPS Matrix Calculator", 301, 506)
;GUISetBkColor(0x00FF00)
GUICtrlCreateTab(5,5,290,480)
GUICtrlCreateTabItem("Installations")
;GUISetBkColor(0x00FF00)
;GUICtrlSetColor(-1,0x00FF00)
;$DPSCalc = GUICtrlCreateLabel("DPS Matrix Calculator Installations", 8, 25, 300, 28)
GUICtrlSetFont(-1, 14, 400, 0, "MS Sans Serif")
;labels
$dpslab1 = GUICtrlCreateLabel("Desktop", 8, 92, 44, 17)
$dpslab2 = GUICtrlCreateLabel("Laptop", 8, 114, 37, 17)
$dpslab3 = GUICtrlCreateLabel("Monitor", 8, 140, 39, 17)
;inputs
$dpsinput1 = GUICtrlCreateInput("0", 88, 88, 25, 21, BitOR($GUI_SS_DEFAULT_INPUT,$ES_NUMBER))
$dpsinput2 = GUICtrlCreateInput("0", 88, 112, 25, 21, BitOR($GUI_SS_DEFAULT_INPUT,$ES_NUMBER))
$dpsinput3 = GUICtrlCreateInput("0", 88, 136, 25, 21, BitOR($GUI_SS_DEFAULT_INPUT,$ES_NUMBER))
;totals
$dpstotal1 = GUICtrlCreateInput("0", 176, 88, 65, 21, BitOR($GUI_SS_DEFAULT_INPUT,$ES_READONLY,$ES_NUMBER))
$dpstotal2 = GUICtrlCreateInput("0", 176, 112, 65, 21, BitOR($GUI_SS_DEFAULT_INPUT,$ES_READONLY,$ES_NUMBER))
$dpstotal3 = GUICtrlCreateInput("0", 176, 136, 65, 21, BitOR($GUI_SS_DEFAULT_INPUT,$ES_READONLY,$ES_NUMBER))
;automatic calculations and labels for them
$dpslabline = GUICtrlCreateLabel("______________________________________________", 8, 288, 280, 17)
$dpslab9 = GUICtrlCreateLabel("Totals", 8, 315, 33, 17)
$dpsinput9 = GUICtrlCreateInput("0", 88, 312, 25, 21, BitOR($GUI_SS_DEFAULT_INPUT,$ES_READONLY,$ES_NUMBER))
$dpstotal9 = GUICtrlCreateInput("0", 176, 312, 65, 21, BitOR($GUI_SS_DEFAULT_INPUT,$ES_READONLY,$ES_NUMBER))
;Button
$Reset = GUICtrlCreateButton("Reset", 206, 432, 65, 33)

$FileMenu = GUICtrlCreateMenu("&File")
    $FileUpdateMatrix = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("&Update Matrix", $FileMenu)
    $FileItemspacer = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("", $FileMenu,3)
    $FileItemExit = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("E&xit", $FileMenu)

GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

While 1
    Sleep(10)
    Switch GuiGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit

        Case $FileItemExit
            Exit

    EndSwitch
WEnd
EndFunc

I did remove quite a bit, the issue im having is specifically on FileItemExit not exiting the program when chosen as the primary point of testing. As well I left the commented attempts of changing the color for the Tabs but I am just missing the point to it or should I convert the tab to a variable then set it with the control ID to color and just didnt go deep enough?

Sorry for any rambling and thanks for any help :)

Setting the color for a tab can be found here (and other threads).

It is important to close the tab structure by creating a final tabitem control with a null text - GUICtrlCreateTabItem("").

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Thank you all for the responses. I have been having a bit of a hard time navigating and searching through the new forum layout which is likely why i didn't locate those. 90% reason being I do most of my research while working on it while at work and the page loads pretty obnoxiously slow(our security).

@BrewmanHH works flawlessly again, Many thanks I would not have realized that but I noticed it was in the Helpfile with

; end tabitem definition

and I just over thought it.... :/

@Melba23 that link was perfect with the code for the Tabs :D.

@Water also thanks a bunch for the suggestions!

I normally see what you guys post and try to read every bit of it :)

As the forum search function is quite weak at the moment I use Google to search the site: "site=autoitscript.com color tabs" ;)
