Having trouble updating a combo box

Recommended Posts

I have a combo box which doesnt contain anything, I want to be able to take input from a field and add it as an item on the combo box.

This is what my code looks like so far:

$Form1 = GUICreate("FruitMachine", 170, 235, 190, 200)
local $fruit[5]
$addfruit = GUICtrlCreateButton("Add", 21, 170, 130, 30)
$fruitinput = GUICtrlCreateInput("Fruit", 21, 145, 130, 20)
$selectfruit = GUICtrlCreateCombo($fruit, 21, 95, 130, 20)
While True
   $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
   Switch $nMsg
      Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
         Exit
      Case $addfruit
         _ArrayInsert($fruit, UBound(($usernames)),GUICtrlRead($fruitinput))
    endswitch
   for $i = 0 to $i-1 step 1
      GUICtrlSetData($selectfruit, $fruit[$i]) #supposed to update combo box
   Next
WEnd

However the combo box appears to not change and im struggling to find the solution was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction, thanks for anyhelp (last question for a while)

Your For loop is wrong, you're using For $i = 0 to $i - 1, it will totally bypass the loop because of that. You need to change one of the variable names in that loop.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Func __UpdateCombo()

EndFunc

A little tip.....One post is all that is required.
