Hi,

An ex-colleague of mine has written a great script for our company's internal use. He left the company several months ago, and now the process needs maintenance. He did not leave any code just a configure.exe (AutoIt) and a "user's guide".

Can I generate source code from the .exe so that I can modify the process?

Hi!

I think that it is his decision not to share the code inside the company, isn't it? If the code was important you should have forced him to give it out before he left you...

You could always contact him and ask if he would kindly give it to you. Depending on the contract he had the rights to it may already belong to the company.

Just this one line says you should have the right to decompile it for company internal use.

It is for company use, and most likely writtin on company time.

If you would post (ok maybe send it to 1 person instead of posting it 4 everyone) the program and can prove what you say is right, maybe some1 can recover it..... not that it is how i would recover the source, i would just ask the person for it nicely....
