Problem Writing Array to Excel

Recommended Posts

Thanks, kcvinu, water and kylomas for responding.

kcvinu, do you really want to see the entire listing? Almost all of it is simply setting up the array to be written to Excel. I will send it if you think that will help.

water, the return value is blank, and @error and @extended are both zero, whether _Excel_RangeWrite($workbook,$newsheet,$outarray) runs correctly or not. By the way, $outarray is populated by an Excel sheet.

I've noticed some discussion about the number of cells. The largest array that I can use right now is 160 rows by 34 columns. That's 5440 array "places."

As you can see in post #6 Excel 2000 only supports 5461 cells for the transpose method. Set the flag in the function call to use the internal _ArrayTranspose function.

Per your suggestion, all I did was change the last item from False (default) to True in:

_Excel_RangeWrite ( $oWorkbook, $vWorksheet, $vValue [, $vRange = "A1" [, $bValue = True [, $bForceFunc = False]]] )

And now it works. All 31,330 of our Part Number records process properly. Seems too simple. I'll have to study this "Transpose" thing.

Thank you for your help!

Glad to be of service :)
I will add a section to the wiki about the transpose limitations.
