DirGetSize not working on W10 ?

Recommended Posts

Im trying to make a script which tracks the folder size of an install (MSI file, or a simple copy) on Windows 10 x64. I used DirGetSize on W7 but it no longer works on Windows 10 ? Windows 10 seems to "reserve" the filesize on the folder before it actually copies it ... the values no longer seem to update but instead only gives me the final foldersize (it used to work on W7, have created a similair script in the past but lost it due to a reinstall). Is this correct or am I doing something wrong ? Is there an alternative I can look in to ?

Used this for testing:

#include <Math.au3>

$_nr = 2

While $_nr=2
    $_DirSize = DirGetSize ( "c:\1" )
    msgbox ( 0 , "l" , ".." & DirGetSize("c:\1"))
    Sleep ( 100 )
WEnd

Copied some files to the folder on my C while the script runs.

Thanks !

If this is being done in Windows 10, what exactly are you asking help with? It doesn't appear to be anything that AutoIt can affect if the Windows API is putting a dummy file of the correct size in the folder.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.
