what's color format from _GDIPlus_BitmapGetPixel?

Recommended Posts

Use the Hex() function. Although if that is the value that's returned by it, you'll need to subtract 4278190080 from the returned value, because 4294959858 is 0xFFFFE2F2 in hexidecimal.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

... or you can use 6 as second parameter in HEX(4294959858, 6) --> FFE2F2

The colour format used by export functions from GDIPlus.dll, like _GDIPlus_BitmapGetPixel, is ARGB, And in hexidecimal format, 0xAARRGGBB,  where the four colour channels are Alpha, Red,Green, and Blue.   The range of each channel is from 0 to 0xFF (255).    When the alpha channel is zero, like 0x00RRGGBB,  the colour is totally transparent.
Examples of colours in ARGB format are:-
0xFF000000 is black
0xFFFFFFFF is white
0xFF00FF00  is green

The colour format used by  functions from WinAPI, Win32, or GDI32.dll, like _WinAPI_GetBkColor or PixelGetColor is RGB. And in hexidecimal format, 0xRRGGBB.

I misread the help file, I thought that took the left side of the hex value, instead it cuts off from the left side and takes the x number of bytes from the right. Much easier that way LOL.
