Exporting array to excel file

Hello,

I am very new to Autoit so I have a hard time understanding the language used in UDF files. But I was wondering if someone could dumb down for me how to Export information into an array?

im writing a gui that captures information into an array but I need that information stored into a local database. I found some threads that I think gives me the answer I just don't understand all that well what they are doing

I'm a little confused as to which way you want the data to move.

Are you wanting to put the data in the array into Excel.

Or are you wanting to use a database?

Or, are you wanting to get the data into the array from some other program and then doing something with that data in the array?

Welcome to AutoIt and the forum!

Please have a look at the Excel UDF that comes with AutoIt. The example script for function _Excel_RangeWrite will show you how to do.

I was looking at that before but due to my lack of knowledge I was having a hard time understanding what was going on. is there maybe a dumb down samples I could look at somewhere? ive literally only been scripting on and off at work in my leisure time for about 2 months now.

Example 2 should fit. It writes an 1D array to Excel. Example 3 uses an 2D array.

If you just want to write an array to an excel file I have used this and it worked great.

You can also do a file write loop and create a .csv

If you want to add data to an existing excel file or have a higher level of interaction I would use Waters Excel.UDF

Thank you guys after some painful research and help from you guys I was able to come up with this GUI. being really new at this I probably didn't do it in the most efficient way but it performs these functions

 saves files in a folder if it doesn't exist; every month creates a new file, and puts all data into a new cell.
