Windows 7 ctrl+a include new files

Recommended Posts

My question not really autoit related but i hope someone can help me.

I wrote a simple script wich select all files in explorer by send ctrl+a then add to rar archive then delete files. It's ok on xp but now i changed to windows 7, now if i select all files the new files (the .rar) also include the selection (windows 7 automatically add to selection the new created .rar file) so i delete the .rar file as well if i send a delete and an enter keystroke.

Is there a way to disable this? I googled a lot without any result, my last hope the lot of smart people here :)

EDIT: i find an otion in winrar 'delete files after archiving', it's solve my problem now but it's still a very annoying thing

EDIT 2: also very annoying if i create/copy a new file in list view, it's in alphabetic order immediatelly (not just at the end like xp)

I believe jfish was giving you an alternative that will work far better than Sending CTRL-A to Windows explorer as that can be an issue if someone is using the computer at the same time.

Send and MouseClicks are generally a bad idea for automation if there are much much better ways to do it. Just because they need less code doesn't make them the better way to do something.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.
