Maarte
Hi all,First, I'm new here. I'm looking for a program where I can replace a word/sentence. So if I type 'Maarten' there comes: 'Maarten is looking for an answer' for example. Here before I used AutoHotKey, but this program don't work with Windows RT.I will use it as a simple dictionary. So it would be nice that I can do something like this:Hello = halloHow are you = hoe gaat hetand so on.It would be nice too if it can be two sides. So if I type: 'hoe gaat it' there comes 'how are you' and if I type 'hello' there comes 'hallo'.It this possible with AutoIT? Oh and if I run the program, I'm not a administrator all the time.Thank you,Maarten

Maarte
Thank you for your reply JohnOne. I don't know so much about computers. Could you explain me how to do that? Or a screenshot how it had to be in the program.

Maarte
There it would be:::Hello::hallo::hallo::hello::how are you::hoe gaat het::hoe gaat het::how are you(In AutoHotKey you cannot use two sides)

Maarte
That's the working script . I know, this doesn't look like a script. But this is how I make this:1. Right click --> New --> AutoHotKey script (On the picture, on the top)2. Insert the text as show on the picture too.3. Save4. Double click to run the script. That it. Maarte
Then there comes a icon on the bottom and it works. IBut If I use it on a Surface with Windows RT it says: This app can't run on your PCIf there is a solution for this problem. It would be fine too. But what I read on the internet, there isn't. ViciousXUSMC
It is like a live string replacement if I remember correctly.I used to use it when I worked helpdesk and had to write a bunch of canned replies. Kind of cool, I cant think of an easy way to do this in AutoIT but its definitely possible. Edit: Found it if anybody is interested, its called "hotstrings"https://autohotkey.com/docs/Hotstrings.htm And while this is old it may still work: .. and yes just tested it works for me.#Include <Hotstring.au3> HotStringSet("btw{space}", btw) Func btw() Send("{Backspace 4}") Send("by the way{space}") EndFunc While 1 Sleep(10) WEnd Edited January 11, 2016 by ViciousXUSMC
Maarte
Can you just please explain exactly what "it works" means. What does it do besides show an icon?Made a short video of how I did it with AutoHotKey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIlQK4hF76c&feature=youtu.beI want to do the same thing, but than with Windows RT. I thought AutoIT script can do this.
JohnOne
Not all windows versions have the same API'sIf Autohotkey cannot, it's unlikely AutoIt can. JohnOne
You need to find the HotStrings thread in example scripts, and download HotStrings.au4 from it, and put it in the same folder as your script.
