kercyr
Hello, What is your proposal for the same kind of activity with Microsoft Windows Seven 7 64 bits ? In fact, we would like to intercept the shutdown, like we did with XP, but the event "VM_QUERYENDSESSION" is not working with W7_64. Regards, (I try to re-start the issue : )

BrewManNH
And what did that last link tell you? You need to use ShutdownBlockReasonCreate and ShutdownBlockReasonDestroy from User32.dll to tell Windows not to allow shut down. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. kercyr
Hello, Is it possible to obtain an exe file that make the job, or the C++ code, that do the job ? These are functions ? "ShutdownBlockReasonDestroy" "ShutdownBlockReasonCreate" On my side, I have a C++ code to do the job on Windows XP. But, one person in my team will have to re-develop a new C++ code file, to do the job on Windows Seven 64 bits, but not in a short time. (not a priority for the moment) -- On my side too, I also write a script to run scripts at shutdown (local policy)... But, I'm not sure to make a success... Problems are related with the "3" 64 bits environment : # Registry : normal (64 bits) or wowo6432node (32 bits) and redirection # Files : system32 (64 bits) or syswow64 (32 bits) and redirection # 3 environments : "logon", "user desktop" and "screensaver" (maybe more ...like "shutdown" and "start") with no "links" between them # Run a 32 bits software in 64 bits environment. # ... # etc. Regards,

Moderators Melba23 Posted February 24, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 24, 2016 kercyr, Welcome to the AutoIt forums. But in future please limit yourself to your own thread rather than necro-posting all over the forum in any thread close to the same subject (most of which I have now deleted). What you did above in linking to the old threads is exactly what you should have done - so a pat on the back for that!
