hi guy i have  a   script

with   2  function

the  first is

Func _Connection_Open($ConnectionString)
    Local $oErrorHandler = ObjEvent("AutoIt.Error", "_ErrFunc")

     $objConn = ObjCreate("ADODB.Connection")
     $objConn.Open($ConnectionString)
    If @error Then Return SetError($ADO_ERR_CONNECTION, @error, $ADO_RET_FAILURE)

    Return SetError($ADO_ERR_SUCCESS, $ADO_EXT_DEFAULT, $ADO_RET_SUCCESS)

EndFunc   ;==>_Connection_Open

and  second  function is

Func _SQL_Query($sql_query)

    $rsCustomers = $objConn.Execute($sql_query)
    With $rsCustomers
        While Not .EOF
            ConsoleWrite(.Fields("id").Value & " - " & .Fields("code").Value & @LF)
            ;$ps_Country_ID_array[$b] = (.Fields("id").Value)
            ;$b += 1
            .MoveNext
        WEnd
        .Close
    EndWith

    EndFunc

when  a  run  the  script  and  call the  first  function go  all ok ,  when i call a  second  give me error , $objConn undeclare global variable ,  so i think  i must  pass $objConn by the  first to second ,  and  i think  use  byref , but  i dont know  how

some  one  can  explain me ??  i try  to red  a wiki  ,  and   i try to put  in first    Func _Connection_Open(byref $objConn ,$ConnectionString) ,  but  not  work  good

The only way to pass the variable byref is to call the second function from the first. But unless you set the function parameter of the second function to the same name as the variable in the calling function (both would have to be called $objConn), you still wouldn't be able to use the variable name in the second function. In your case you probably don't want to transfer it byref because you have the possibility to change the contents of the variable in the second function.

If the first function doesn't directly call the second function, you will have to use a global variable.

Func _Connection_Open($ConnectionString)
    Local $oErrorHandler = ObjEvent("AutoIt.Error", "_ErrFunc")

    $objConn = ObjCreate("ADODB.Connection")
    $objConn.Open($ConnectionString)
    If @error Then Return SetError($ADO_ERR_CONNECTION, @error, $ADO_RET_FAILURE)
    _SQL_Query("query string", $objConn) ; <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Something like this.
    Return SetError($ADO_ERR_SUCCESS, $ADO_EXT_DEFAULT, $ADO_RET_SUCCESS)

EndFunc   ;==>_Connection_Open
Func _SQL_Query($sql_query, $objConn)

    $rsCustomers = $objConn.Execute($sql_query)
    With $rsCustomers
        While Not .EOF
            ConsoleWrite(.Fields("id").Value & " - " & .Fields("code").Value & @LF)
            ;$ps_Country_ID_array[$b] = (.Fields("id").Value)
            ;$b += 1
            .MoveNext
        WEnd
        .Close
    EndWith

EndFunc   ;==>_SQL_Query

Global variables exist for a reason, that reason is that 2 functions can't share local variables, or their contents, unless one function calls the other function and passes the contents of that variable to the second function. If the 2 functions aren't talking directly to each other you MUST use a global variable.

The only other way to make it work is if you have a third function, that calls the first function, that first function returns the contents of the variable you want to use in the second function back to the calling function, and then you call the second function using the returned value(s).

I see you're using part of my UDF, but you changed it.
The question is why ? What was your intention ?

If you need your own "easier to use" Function then you should make your functions based on UDF function. So you should: create wrapper.

By the way.
I use this UDF for a long time (started from _sql.au3 and last few months I changed almost everything making ADO.au3 ), and for this UDF I did wrapper, created under my specific CRM application.

EDIT:
If you make description of what you care then I'll try to make examples of how to adapt ADO.au3 to the specific case.

But first you must simply answer/give some feedback in your previous Threads which you open last days.
I simply need to know if my examples works for you (answer in the desired therad where I post example)
