AndyS01
When I press F5, I want a program to run before running AutoIt3Wrapper.exe, but the #Compiler_Run_Before directive is ignored (and it's not colored in the editor). If I use the #AutoIt3Wrapper_Run_Before directive, it only runs when I compile it (F7) my test code: #Region #AutoIt3Wrapper_Run_Before = notepad 123.txt #EndRegion #Region #Compiler_Run_Before = notepad 456.txt #EndRegion Consolewrite("!> ===HERE===" & @CRLF) When I press F5, it compiles without running notepad. When I press F7, notepad is opened and tries to open "123.txt". I want to run notepad to edit 456.txt when I press F5.
BrewManNH
I've never heard of a #Compiler option, and can't find any mention of one going back several versions. BTW, pressing F5 doesn't compile anything, it just runs the script from Scite using AutoIt3.exe and your script. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. AndyS01
Look here for examples of #compiler directives.
AndyS01
I want to run my program (notepad, in my example code) before AutoIt3Wrapper.exe is run when F5 is pressed.
BrewManNH
That post you linked is 9 years old, those directives no longer work, they've been replaced by the wrapper directives. To run Notepad, use the Run or RunWait command as one of your first lines. Why do you need to run Notepad (or any other program) before the script runs by the way? If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. AndyS01
Sorry about that. I didn't notice how old it was. The example I made was just that - an example. In the real code I would be running my parser before the wrapper code was run, then undoing it after the code was run/compiled. As I noted before, the '#AutoIt3Wrapper_Run_Before=' only runs when colpiling, not when running (F5) See my most recent thread to see what I'm trying to accomplish here
BrewManNH
What about using the Run or RunWait commands before the rest of your script?
