giangnguyen
I am trying to implement encrypted communication between a server and an autoit script. But on PHP you can do many modes of encryption (CBC, OFB,...) So which one would be compatible with autoit? It is AES256 btw Edited March 27, 2016 by giangnguyen
AutoBert
AutoIt can modes: 3DES, AES (128bit), AES (192bit), AES (256bit), DES, RC2, RC4. So have a look in php-docu which modes are in list above and use the mode of your choice.
jchd
@giangnguyen, The standard Crypt UDF relies on Windows primitives. As explained here " If keys are generated for symmetric block ciphers, the key, by default, is set up in cipher block chaining (CBC) mode with an initialization vector of zero. This cipher mode provides a good default method for bulk encrypting data. To change these parameters, use the CryptSetKeyParam function. " The moral is that if you insist on more exotic, non-default settings, you need to use extra steps. This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). giangnguyen
So if I just use _Crypt_DecryptData it will be CBC right?
jchd
Yes, provided something compatible has been used to obtain the ciphertext. Note that default IVs are null also. Radix
Tell me, How does UDF key derivation work? I mean, I noticed that it uses MD5 as a hash, but I didn't understand how to reproduce for example in OpenSSL. I mean, I really need an AES or even 3DES based encryption tool that is PHP/OpenSSL compatible. The command: openssl enc -d -aes-256-cbc -md md5 -k 12345 It results in an error.https://github.com/pedroalbanese/encryptcli is not compatible with OpenSSL How to proceed? Thanks in advance.
