How to Set a value to this with _IE Funtions

Recommended Posts

Hey I have a problem. I am creating a Twitch bot for my stream, but i dont know how to write in the chat with the _IEFormElementSetValue. I am trying it like this:

Local $_Keyword = GUICtrlRead($KeywordImp)
   Local $Chat = _IEGetObjById($oIE,"ember1220")
   _IEFormElementSetValue($Chat,$KeywordImp)

But when i run the script this appears: --> IE.au3 T3.0-2 Warning from function _IEGetObjById, $_IESTATUS_NoMatch (ember1220)
--> IE.au3 T3.0-2 Error from function _IEFormElementSetValue, $_IESTATUS_InvalidDataType

I have tried multiple types of things to try to write in the chat, but i dont know how.

The Html is :

<textarea id="ember1330" placeholder="Enviar un mensaje" class="chat_text_input mousetrap ember-view ember-text-area"><!----></textarea>

Thanks for reading.

If you could share the website or a similar one it would be easier.

First, about that error, are you sure about the object ID? See in the piece of your code there is "ember1220" and in the html "ember1330".

And maybe you could user something like ".innerHTML" to change the text.

@Bacost

Inspect this element, go upper (two parent elements), and copy here HTML Code snippet.

I will try to explain better i want to make a bot for twitch chat: https://www.twitch.tv/mlg you can check the chat there.

But when i try to do the _IEGetObjByID it doesnt let me, and it gives an error :   IE.au3 T3.0-2 Warning from function _IEGetObjById, $_IESTATUS_NoMatch (ember1330)
--> IE.au3 T3.0-2 Error from function _IEFormElementSetValue, $_IESTATUS_InvalidDataType.

And I changed the ember1220 to ember 1330 and it still doesnt work.

I did not make much tests, but i belive each time you visite the twitch website the element ID that you are looking he changes it. So try this:

#include <IE.au3>

$oIE = _IECreate("https://www.twitch.tv/mlg")

Sleep(15000) ;make sure the website is completely loaded

$sHTML = _IEDocReadHTML($oIE)
$aFolderID = StringRegExp($sHTML, '(?i)<textarea class="chat_text_input mousetrap ember-view ember-text-area" id="(.*?)" placeholder=', 1)[0]
$ElementByID = $oIE.document.getElementById($aFolderID)
$ElementByID.innerTEXT = "I changed the Text!!!!"

Exit
