Which function to reach a specific part of a website ?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

My small company manages a blog (wordpress format). The problem is that the "comment zone" of many articles is full of queries. So i'm trying to create a bot that would allow us to comment different articles of our blog - articles identified as full of queries - to redirect these "queries" to our customer service.

For that, I need my bot to understand where is the "leave a comment" zone on each article and the e-mail zone also (which is marked as "hidden" in our html code).

Do you know which function should I use for that ? I guess it might be a function that would read the html code of a wordpress  (?) and then point the mouse on the required zone but I don't know which one :/

Thanks a lot for your help :)

Unfortunately @JulienL,

If you want something like that you will need to know a lot about how AutoIt works.

But even then I am not actually sure if something like that is even possible in AutoIt. It is probably better looking towards one of the more "advanced" languages. Such as C++ I believe C++ might be able to do what you are looking for using reading and writing to a processes memory. But I don't really know anything about C++.

@TheFixer typically if you don't know anything about a particular question, or don't know how to assist, it's better to wait and let others reply rather than clogging the thread with what amounts to "I have no idea" ;)

@JulienL is this blog something externally facing that you could include a link to, so we could see the page layout?

Sorry, I'll try to keep that in mind for next time. :)

It's a basic wordpress, so I'm pretty sure the page layout is standard (at least, the comment form) like this one https://bemusedbackpacker.com/2013/08/26/how-to-stay-fit-and-healthy-on-your-gap-year/ (just an example :D)

FYI, after lots of research i've found how to "reach" the specific part. Basically, we have to use the same structure as for "auto log in" bots :)

The code looks like this :

$oIE = _IECreate("url-of-the-blog")
$o_comment = _IEGetObjByName($oIE, "comment")
_IEFormElementSetValue($o_comment, "")

$o_email = _IEGetObjByName($oIE, "email")
_IEFormElementSetValue($o_email, "")

$o_name = _IEGetObjByName($oIE, "author")
_IEFormElementSetValue($o_name, "")

$o_submit = _IEGetObjByName($oIE, "submit")
_IEAction($o_submit, "click")

Hope it would help someone else ;)
