Running on Computer Without Installation

Hi,

I embedded a AutoIt code in my access module using References and early or late binding.
a little sample of my code is:

Dim objAutoIt As AutoItX3

  Set objAutoIt = New AutoItX3
  With objAutoIt
    .AutoItSetOption "MouseCoordMode", 0
    .WinWait ("Another Program")
    .WinActivate ("Another Program")
    .Send ("q")
  End With

Is it possible to make it work also on computers without installation of AutoIt?

Compile it to a EXE-file

It's not ideal solution because the vba code continues, then the AutoIT object is running more commands and it also getting input/variables/values from the vba code. That means that for each section of the AutoIT script in the vba code i'll need another exe file...

I am not sure I fully understand what you are trying to do but in case you find it useful you can run un-compiled scripts against the AutoIt exe ...

I did not pick up on the AutoItX DLL aspect of the question in the OP.

This user isn't running AutoIt scripts, he's using the AutoItX DLL with another language than AutoIt. None of your answers apply here.

You just must only once register ActiveX component (AutoItX3.dll) in your Windows.

For example like that:

c:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe AutoItX3.dll

Of course while registering ActiveX component you should have Admin rights.

Thanks, mLipok, this is what i thought and tried it before posting my question on one computer, but got an error message, something about missing module... I'll try it on another computer next week and will let you know if it worked. I will also post the full regsvr32 error message.

You should know that this procedur may be different if you want to use 32 or 64 bit MS Access, or any other environment in which you want to use AutoItX.

Hi mLipok,

it seems to be working, on 64 bit systems I had to copy the dll to the SysWow64 folder and not to the System32...
